07.21.15

Hey family!

I hope you know I love you a lot!  I hope all is well at home!  I love reading the emails and hearing about how everything is going for everyone!  I'm glad that you are all keeping busy and having a great time preparing for the wedding haha.  Save some cake for me..
Nate is back in school, all of the nieces and nephews doing well.  Good stuff!

This week was full of excitement, miracles, and hard work.  On Sunday, Byron, Oscar, and Martha came with us to church along with Tania and Ivan.  It was great!  They all enjoyed it and we were happy to have them with us.  They have all been progressing well and we are happy to be working with them.

On Monday, the changes started and we were super busy.  We received all of the new missionaries and got all of their paperwork done, fed them a lot, and got them out to their areas.  This week was extra tiring because for special circumstances we had to wake up and start working before 4 am.  Only with the help of the Lord was I able to do that because mom knows how hard it is for me to wake up in the morning haha.  Now we feel rested and all is well!

Funny story for the week.  I took my most beat up pair of shoes to the cobbler a couple of weeks ago to get know soles put on them and get some more life out of them.  So I sent them and when I went back to pick them up they gave me the wrong shoes!  They couldn't find my shoes.  They either gave them to the wrong person or they stole them and gave me other ones.  If any of you ever travel to Costa Rica, I would recommend fixing your shoes before you leave haha.

On a more spiritual note, this week I saw a miracle.  During the middle of the week I received a phone call from somebody that lives in Springville.  I don't know how he got my phone number, but we talked for a minute and he told me he had a reference for the mission.  He gave me the reference and told me that I should give the reference as soon as possible.  Normally, I would put the reference on a list and send it out as soon as I have a couple free minutes.  But this time was different.  I felt that I should send it out right away.  So I looked to see which area to send it too, and after some research I figured out the area and sent it out.  One of the missionaries in the office was with me and asked him to call it to see if she really lives where I thought she did.  To our surprise, when he called, she was shocked.  She proceeded to tell the Elder that she had just finished praying and asking our Heavenly Father if she should be baptized when the phone rang.  The sisters visited her that day and she has a baptismal date for the 15 of August.  The God of Israel leads this sacred work.

This Sunday the entire country of Costa Rica will be changed forever.  The Lord's promise to hasten the work is being fulfilled and we are seeing it all around.  In Section 88 of the Doctrine and Covenants, verse 73 the Lord gives a simple statement,
73 Behold, will hasten my work in its time.
Tomorrow, 3 new stakes will be formed in Costa Rica and many stakes will be realigned.  Many area leaders are currently here to participate in such a historical day.  We are living in a time of great excitement in this country, and it will never be the same.  The Lord's answer to the early elders of the church still runs strong today, in section 133:

And behold, and lo, this shall be their cry, and the voice of the Lord unto all people: Go ye forth unto the land of Zion, that the borders of my people may be enlarged, and that her stakes may be strengthened, and that Zion may go forth unto the regions round about.

I know that the Lord keeps his promises and that we are living in a time of great excitement.  The work of the Lord is hastening and He is gathering his flock. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true and living church upon the face of the earth, and that thorough it we can receive all of the blessings that our Heavenly Father has prepared for us.  God speaks today through living prophets and is actively preparing His kingdom for the Second Coming of His son Jesus Christ.

I love you all and hope that you have a great week!
